This preparation is used to treat inflammatory conditions in the mouth, such as mouth ulcers. The triamcinolone is contained in a paste designed to ensure prolonged contact with the affected area allowing for adequate penetration.
# Apply a layer over the affected area, preferably after meals. Do not rub in.
# Do not use for longer than 5 days in children.
# If applied underneath dentures there may be absorption of this medicine into the bloodstream.
# Individuals with an unexplained mouth ulcer which has lasted longer than 3 weeks should seek prompt medical advice.
# Corticosteroids should be used sparingly and for short periods of time in the elderly.
